How do I find a property?

In Map View, type an address or a catastro number in the search box, or zoom in and tap any lot. The lot is highlighted and its window opens.

What you can type in the search box

  • An address, like the street or the urbanización and the house number.
  • A catastro number, the property's number on the tax map.
  • Coordinates, or a map link that has them. A short link from a phone's map app can't be read, so open it first and copy the coordinates.
  • An owner's name, a person or a company. Looking up by owner name is part of the Investor plan.

The results come from the whole island. Pick one and the map takes you to the lot, outlines it and opens its window.

A result shows its address, catastro number, town and owner, so you can tell apart two lots on streets with the same name. One marked No map location has no point on the map yet.

Finding it on the map

Zoom in until you see the borders of the lots, then tap the one you want. A lot opens its own window, so a house and the lot next to it can be two different properties.

Find my location puts a blue dot where you are, so you can stand in front of a house and tap it. It works best on a phone, and it is part of the Investor plan.

Map layers turns on the flood zones and the distress pins. The pins show the subastas coming up and, on the Investor plan, pre-foreclosures, damaged homes and inherited leads.

Other ways to find a property

  • Finca Lookup finds a property by its finca number in the public registry of properties. Pick the section and type the number to see its owner, its last sale and its recorded filings.
  • Deed Search finds the properties and filings that name a person, a company or a notary.
  • Comparables lists recorded sales by town, development, price, date or type, and finds the sales of one property by its address, catastro or finca number.
  • Subastas has its own search, by case number, bank, debtor, address or catastro.

If you can't find it

Some lots have no street address on record, often land or a new home. Search those by catastro number, or find them on the map.

Searching doesn't count toward your usage limit. Opening a property counts once, and opening it again within 7 days doesn't count.
