Pre-foreclosure homes in Puerto Rico

A home in pre-foreclosure has a foreclosure lawsuit in court and no sale ordered yet. On the Investor plan, the Pre-foreclosure tab on the auctions screen shows them with each step in court, before they reach an auction.

What pre-foreclosure is

When an owner stops paying the mortgage, the bank can sue to foreclose. While the case is in court and no sale has been ordered, the property is in pre-foreclosure. If the court orders the sale, it goes to auction.

Why it matters to an investor

It is the time when the owner can still sell on their own, pay the debt or reach a deal with the bank. An investor can talk to the owner before the auction.

How Flipeo PR does it

  • The Pre-foreclosure tab on the auctions screen shows properties with a foreclosure lawsuit and no sale ordered yet.
  • On a property you see the steps of its case in court, in order.
  • The Pre-foreclosure tab is an Investor exclusive.

Public records can be incomplete or late, so verify the case before you act.
